The Village of Frankfort Board of Trustees requests that George J. Luther II be temporarily assigned as judge in the Village of Frankfort until such time as the newly elected justice (from the June election) fulfills the training requirements to sit on the bench.

POLICE: Chief Ron Petrie
Case Management:
Attached is information regarding incidents handled by the police department for the month of February 2012. There were 110 cases handled, 107 of which are closed and 3 remain open and under investigation. There were thirteen (13) persons arrested during the month. There were 17 parking citations issued and 50 vehicle and traffic tickets issued.
Department News:
The police department has entering into an agreement with the Herkimer County Domestic Violence Program, funding by Catholic Charities. A victim advocate will be coming to the police station on a weekly basis to perform some follow-up on any reported domestic calls the police respond to. The police department also recently received training from the Domestic Violence Program keeping up to date on statutes and services available through their program. These services are all completed at no cost to the police department or village.
Personnel
**Executive Session**
Part-time Officer Kirk Hisert has resigned from the department. Kirk was in the first group of officers I hired when I started and has been valuable to the department while he was here. I ask that his resignation be accepted with regret, and if Kirk has interest to return to our department at a later time I would recommend he be hired back.
With the resignation of Officer Hisert, and the possibility of additional officers leaving due to full time job offers I have conducted interviews. I request approval to hire the following officers:
Anthony Testa, a Frankfort resident and active member of the fire department. Anthony will need to be trained, however has agreed to attend an academy on his own time and at his own expense.
Christopher Rooke, a Frankfort resident who is currently employed at the Village of St. Johnsville and is fully trained, having graduated the Otsego County Academy earlier this year.
Training
The Phase 2 Academy that ended on February 1st, 2012 received approval from the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) and all of the attendees for the class recently received their certification as Police Officers. If there is a need this fall, I would like to run another Phase 2 academy to generate revenue for the village.

The Village has contracted to have the land clear cut. An outside party is clearing and the village is being reimbursed for the wood.
A letter has been received from Charles Durse inquiring about the possible purchase of parcel # 112.4-2-7.1. Consisting of 3.8 acres of village land that borders his own. Village clerk will contact Mr. Durse asking him to submit an offer.
A workshop is being held on Monday, March 19th at 6:00pm to review the proposed budget.
